STRESSED.

As you notice, I'm writing to you later than I would have liked. While sometimes I can be a procrastinator, I normally like to get things out of the way ahead of time so I actually have some moments of relaxation, or if it's a written assignment, I like to have time to look things over and revise my piece.

All that being said, this week is incredibly busy for me; I feel like I'm swamped in reading, homework and papers. It seems like I'm procrastinating on some assignments for this week, but in reality, I haven't had too much free time to work on all of the assignments. And on top of everything else, I feel like I'm coming down with a cold--just what I need.

Now that that's all out of the way and I've been a Negative Nancy, I don't know how I would approach my students if they were feeling stressed just as I am at this very moment. If any of you have suggestions I will gladly take them and utilize them  for my classroom, and perhaps even use them myself in times like this :)

  1. I've got an incredibly busy week as well... and I'm sick... and I also did my blog a bit late. If Students were feeling like I am right now, I would encourage them to come talk to me so I could give them a break...

But actually I would tell them what I tell myself. Take it one day at a time. Don't stress out. Things will work out eventually. Planning and organization can always relieve stress for me and I like to work knowing that the stress period will soon be over, the quicker I get the work done.

  2. I'll see your Negative Nancy and raise you a Nancy Langguth: Get out of your worry rocker!
(Seriously, I love that lady soooo much, and it is kind of a useful idea too!)

  3. I think everyone can relate to your blog...it's midterms about now, so it starts to seem like everything's due at once! That said, I agree with Alex, take it one day at a time. It's all about the attitude you present, if you tell yourself that you'll get through it enough times, and focus on one thing at a time, it starts seeming a lot easier!

  4. I know how you feel! I actually had to leave work today and came home and slept for five hours. Sometimes you have to take care of yourself, even if it means emailing you teacher and telling them that you need an extra day. Hope you feel better soon!

  5. I have to have a hobby or I'd go insane. Working stressed or tired is not productive. On the whole, working less with more productivity is much easier on you, more efficient, and more enjoyable.
